Note to my former YMCA Scuba students: YMCA of the USA has discontinued their scuba certification program as of December 31, 2008. Your certification that you earned however, is still valid with no expiration date. You can still go diving, and you can still sign up through scuba classes with another certifying agency.

When YMCA discontinued their scuba program, many of those scuba instructors formed their own certifiying agency - Scuba Educators International (S.E.I.) Just like the YMCA program was, they are the only certification agency in the US that can offer CMAS certifications. They also issue replacement certification cards to former YMCA students.
